Misunderstandings
A Woodfalls Girls Novel
by Tiffany King
Just when she thought things were going up…
Two years after a devastating breakup, Brittni Mitchell has
moved on from Justin Avery—or so she tells herself. But when she returns to Seattle for her best
friend’s engagement party, Brittni finds herself the victim of a disastrously
timed elevator breakdown. She’s trapped with the last person she wants to face,
and forced to recount the past she desperately wants to forget.
She’s going to have to look back…
When Brittni left her podunk hometown for a big city college
experience at the University
of Washington , hooking up
with a guy like Justin Avery was not part of her plan. Between Justin’s attention-grabbing
tattoos, cigarette smoking, and bad boy attitude Brittni quickly chalked him up
as “Mr. Wrong.” But his charm was unrelenting, and Brittni’s decision to give
Justin a chance quickly turned into the worst choice she ever made.
So that she might be able to move forward.
Now she’s stuck with Justin—literally—and the complicated
web of misunderstandings that tied up the truth for two years is about to
unravel.

My Review
Tiffany King is an author I don't miss a book from. I love the easy way she makes me fall in love with her characters and her writing style agrees with me very well. This time was no exception. I loved this installment of the Woodfalls Girls novels, It was one I enjoyed from start to finish. I love books were the characters are "stuck" together and that made me excited for this book from the get go.
Brittni and Justin where characters I both enjoyed getting to know. I usually cringe when I find out a book has flashbacks in the story. I generally hate them unless they are well done and Misunderstandings was very well done. If you can keep my attention with a flashback, let alone several in a book to tell the main portion of the story, then you have my vote as a great author.
Of course you know from the beginning that something had gone wrong with this couple, (see the book's title) so while enjoying watching Brittni and Justin's relationship grow, you had to know at some point the bottom was going to fall out, which, eventually it did. That's the point where things are so frustrating and you just feel like everyone should just shut up and listen instead of walk away. Now, years later, they really don't have a choice but to do so. It was such a great way to make things come full circle for this couple and get them around to where they needed to be. It gave them a second chance to make a decision whether or not they could forgive and move on together, or apart, but if nothing else, they would be able to find some peace and resolution with their relationship through being forced to finally talk.
The Woodfalls Girls novel series is one I highly recommend. Please note that they do fall into the New Adult category, and as such are not for readers under the age of 18. I don't read too much in the NA genre just because I have found it to have too much adult content (mainly sex) for my liking, rather than the content of the story. Tiffany King, however, makes the adult situations in this series tame enough that I fell comfortable reading them and recommending them to other adults that I know feel the same way as I do.
Thank you Tiffany for another great book that I know I will enjoy reading over again like the rest of your books.
