Top Ten Tuesday ~ Popular Authors I Have Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by

This weeks topic:
Popular authors I have never read
These are in order of how I feel like people are going to throw things at me because I haven't read them so now I will dive into my shelter......

10 - Danielle Steel
Danielle Steel: Historical Classics: 3 Novel Bundle: Jewels/ No Greater Love/ Zoya
She has so many books that it blows my mind.  I guess I just have never gotten around to checking her out.

9 - Tom Clancy
I love all of the Jack Ryan movies but this is most definitely not a genre I prefer to read.  My husband devours books like this and I will leave him to it!

8 - E.L. James
Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)
Never read them and I never plan to.

7 - Janet Evanovich
Janet Evanovich Boxed Set #2 (Hot Six, Seven Up, Hard Eight)
I can't count the number of times someone has recommended Janet's books to me but I have yet to read one of them.

6 - Gillian Flynn
Gone Girl
I guess this is an author that just hasn't ever struck me as a must read.  I know many people that love Gone Girl in particular but I just haven't had the desire to read it.

5 - Colleen Hoover
The "Best First Kiss" from Holder's POV (Hopeless, #1.5)
I know, I know, I KNOW!  I actually own a few of Colleen Hoover's books but I have yet to read one.

4 - Kira Cass
The Selection (The Selection, #1)
I just bought this book last week so I will hopefully be remedying the fact I have yet to read this series and with The One coming out it is probably perfect timing  for it!

3 - Rainbow Rowell
Eleanor & Park

This is another recent acquisition along with Fangirl so hopefully Rainbow Rowell will be entering my life in the near future.

2 - Marissa Meyer
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1)
I have wanted to read this book since the first time I saw it but I just haven't been able to get to it.  With the release of Cress, I finally bought it a few weeks ago and now that it is in my possession I plan to read it very soon.

1 - John Green
Yes, that's right, I've never read a book by John Green.  I may someday read something of his, but I know with certainty I will never read The Fault In Our Stars just because I don't voluntarily induce an ugly cry.

Okay, now everyone wants to freak out on me, you better leave me YOUR links so I can throw a fit over the authors you haven't read yet!  Have a terrific week!

  1. I don't plan to read E.L. James either fist bump :)
I didn't want to Cinder either but I just started listening to it's audio version and it's fun :)

    1. I'm excited for Cinder. I just haven't quite made it there yet. I hope it's as good as I have heard. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Read TFiOS and cry - it's good for you. That book made me think so much. And cry a lot. But after it I felt so much better.
We have a few in common. I haven't read Gone Girl either, although everyone seems to bang on about it like it's the best thing to happen to the crime/mystery/thriller genre ever.

    1. Yeah, I don't know if I will ever get to Gone Girl. I guess there are just so many others I prefer to read before it. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I recently heard of Colleen Hoover, didn't realise she was popular, I do like the covers. I read many others. My favourite genre is crime, suspense and I was not a fan of Gone Girl, overrated in my opinion.

    1. Overrated. Thanks for that. It may be enough to keep me from wasting time on it. It's been one of those on the fence things for a while. Colleen seems to be VERY popular in the blogs that I follow so I think she is probably one of those that may not be know by most anyone just yet. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Nice list, I haven't read Gone Girl yet either! You should try to get Marissa Meyer and Rainbow Rowell off this list as fast as you can - I can't even describe how much I loved the Lunar Chronicles series and Fangirl. :)

    1. I know that I need to get to both of those authors. Sometimes I'm almost afraid to read the ones everyone likes so much because I may not. That happened with Divergent, I didn't even finish the series. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Yeah, skipping EL James is probably a good idea. (Though I loved them when I first read them... I have evolved. LOL) Colleen Hoover is a must must MUST. I also need to read Rainbow Rowell. I have a few on my Kindle. :D

  6. Nice! Never read any of these either. Although with my list, I likely won't be reading many of them. A few of them aren't even in my genre that I read. But oh well! Hope you read the ones you want to read from your list!

    Thanks for visiting my blog!

  7. Great list. Marissa Meyer and Rainbow Rowell made my list too, really need to hurry up and read them. I ended up loving Colleen Hoover's Slammed, it was really good :)

  8. If you don't want to read Fault (EVEN THOUGH IT'S WORTH IT) read Paper Towns... John Green is where it's at!

  9. I definitely need to read a Colleen Hoover book too! I read Hero at Large by Janet, it was a really cute read. I am not interested in her crime time novels though. especially since there are like 20 in the series. that is wayyyyyyyy too much for me. anf 50 shades wasn't bad, I might talk you into them sometime :)
