Seventeen-year-old Oliver Wendell Holmes (Yes, his parents are just that peculiar, but his brother's name is Sherlock, so it could have been worse) knows that he's different. He's quirky, awkward, and he's okay with that. Oliver also likes making lists-meticulous procedures for achieving his goals, step-by-step. Whether it's "How to Get an A in Chemistry" or "How to Get Accepted to MIT," he has a process, and it's worked for him so far. He doesn't even care that the popular kids mock him. Oliver's got his eye on the prize. So when he decides it's time to declare his feelings for Ainsley Bishop, the girl of his dreams, it's only natural for him to make a list-a point-by-point strategy to win her heart. He knows it will take a grand gesture for her to see all he has to offer, and her approaching birthday provides the ideal opportunity for Oliver to put his plan into action.Finding the perfect gift is a challenge Oliver meets with his usual dogged determination. He'll need to watch her carefully for clues to pinpoint exactly what he should give her. And along the way, he might just learn that what Ainsley really needs is not quite what he expected.

When I read Ainsley Bishop for this tour, I knew that my 13 year old daughter (Toucan) would love it as much as I did, so I asked her to read it and help me with the review. She agreed and we both had a great time talking about it and putting this review together!
At First Sight
This book caught my eye right away because of the adorable cover AND the fact I have a daughter named Ainsley! I had to give it a second look after that!
Characters and Relationships
Toucan, who was your favorite character?
I liked Viney. He was funny and a very honest and loyal friend to Oliver.
Viney was a great character. I also adored Hank. He was such a great mentor for Oliver.
I loved the Chess Games between Oliver and Hank. Hank really knew how to play.
What about Ainsley and Ian? What did you think of their relationship?
I hated Ian from the moment they mentioned him. I didn't like how he treated Ainsley and I was really worried for her a lot of the time.
Me too. I didn't trust Ian at all!
I loved watching Oliver and Ainsley's friendship grow throughout the book. Do you have a favorite part with them?
My favorite part was when they were painting the scenery for the play. It was hilarious!

Is This A Kissing Book?
Well Toucan.....is this a kissing book?
Not really. There is SOME kissing, but not enough that I would consider this a "Kissing Book".

Don't Leave Me Hanging
No cliffhangers here. This was an adorable book that finished up nicely.

The Sum Up
How To Get Ainsley Bishop To Fall In Love With You was a fun fast paced YA novel.
So fast paced that you can practically read it in like a few hours and not even realize it!
Well said my dear. I would recommend this book to anyone ages 11 and up.
I would totally recommend it to my friends.
If you are into contemporary YA, this book is a great read that will keep you smiling from start to finish. There are so many fun elements to it that I can see myself reading it again someday.
Someday soon!
