HERE WE GO!
Book Summary
Desperate to break free…
I've spent my entire life under my father’s thumb, but now I'm finally free to make my own choices. When my roommate dragged me to my first college party, I met Finn Coram and my life turned inside out. He knows how to break the rules and is everything I never knew I wanted. A Marine by day and surfer by night, he pushes me away even as our attraction brings us closer. Now I am finally free to do whatever I want. I know what I want. I choose Finn.

Trying to play by the rules...
I always follow orders. My job, my life, depends on it. I thought this job would be easy, all the rules were made crystal clear, but when I met Carrie Wallington, everything got muddy. She's a rule I know I shouldn't break, but damn if I don’t inch closer to the breaking point each time I see her. I’m ready to step out of line. And even worse? I’m living a lie. They say the truth will set you free, but in my case…
The truth will cost me everything.
This book was amazing! You know how sometimes you just need a book to give you the right escape at the right time? Out of Line did that for me! I loved both Carrie and Finn. Their chemistry is amazing and they can't help but fall for each other. I honestly don't know any woman that wouldn't fall for Finn!
I love that this book is written from both character's point of view. It's my absolute favorite format! I am always dying to get at everyone's thoughts so it always works really well for me.

Carrie is on her own for the first time and finally feels free of her controlling parents. The thing I liked about Carrie is she wants to feel this freedom without going crazy. Doing little things she knows her father wouldn't like, but at the same time they aren't things that are going to get her into any kind of major trouble (taking a ride on a motorcycle isn't breaking any laws).
As Finn put it so well:
Carrie is someone that doesn't trust easily which made me really relate to her. I never trust anyone until I really get to know them. She is very suspicious that her father is having her followed because that's all she's ever known and she doesn't trust that he will respect her wishes to be an adult, now she has gone to school. I liked that Carrie is focused on what she wants as far as school goes, and also in relation to Finn.
As Finn put it so well:
"I think you look like a good girl
who wants to try her hand at being a bad girl."

Ahhh Finn!
This guy is beyond awesome!
He's a marine.
He's a surfer.
He has a motorcycle.
He has a secret.
You can't help but adore Finn for always wanting to do the right thing. He is so attracted to Carrie but has to keep pushing her away (due to his secret) even though their attraction is so strong. He is so protective and caring of her regardless of the fact that he can't have her. It's hard to tell you everything I love about Finn without giving the book away. Just trust me when I say, he is amazing and you need to read this book!
This book stuck with me for a few days after reading it. It's been a while since that has happened. I couldn't stop thinking about it and I give so much credit to Jen McLaughlin for her writing. I would absolutely recommend Out of Line! Below are some links to help you get to this book ASAP!
