Top Ten Tuesday ~ Book Related Problems

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by

This weeks topic: Book Related Problems

10 ~ I Am A Swag Addict!
I'll admit it, I love the swag!  I also love to share the swag and pass on the love.  I need to do another giveaway soon to do just that.

9 ~ I won't read a book if I saw the movie first.
This is true 99% of the time.  I hate knowing what is going to happen in a book (unless I am doing a re-read on my own) and it ruins all the fun of a good book.  I have to read the book before the movie or I will never do it.

8 ~ Books have BIG WORDS!
I was doing my list and my 9yo popped up and said "Books have big words I don't know.  That's my problem!"  I have to admit, I occasionally still have that problem as well.

7 ~ Anything over 500 pages is just too long.
This one belongs to Beighley.  He doesn't like the long books and won't read anything over 500 pages anymore.

6 ~ I judge a lot of books by their cover.
I do this, and it probably isn't the best idea because there are so many books out there that are probably great but if I hate the cover, I rarely give them a chance.

5 ~ I don't read fast enough.
This is a problem I know I have touched on before.  I am a slow reader.  Mostly it is due to the fact that I used to hate reading (this is true) until about 9 years ago.  Now I love it, but it's hard for me to keep up, at least that's how I feel.

4 ~ Waiting for the next book in a series.
I HATE waiting for the next book in a series.  I have actually put off reading books just because I know they are a series and I don't want to wait.

3 ~ Too many books, not enough time.
This is one that goes along somewhat with #5, but seriously, does anyone out there feel like they have enough time to read?

2 ~ Not enough shelf space.
I think this is a common problem among book lovers.  Not enough space for all the books.  I just cleaned my shelves and sold some to the used book store and gave some away to friends and I am almost back up to capacity thanks to my #1 problem...

1 ~ Book Buying!
You know you all do it too.  I have a serious problem buying all the pretty books.  They want to come live with me.  They like my house.  We have cookies here.

There's my top ten for the week.  What are your bookish problems?

Excerpt from Caught Inside
“Enough of me,” he said coyly. He reached out to grab a stray lock of my strawberry blonde hair. I swatted his hand away.

“Do not touch me,” I hissed.

He rolled his eyes and turned his baseball cap backwards on his head. “Oh, come on. I’m a guy and you’re a girl and—”

“This isn’t going to turn into some tutor/student sex fantasy,” I shot back angrily.

“Admit it. You think I’m hot.”

If I were being frank, I would admit that the fourteen-year-old freshman was good looking in a young Brad Pitt sort of way. Regardless, he was a freshman. There was no way I was even entertaining that idea.

I shook my head. “Nope. Can’t say that I do.”

“Oh, come on, Riley. Stop denying what is fated. We are going to fall in love, get married, and have beautiful children.”

“Do you want me to tell your mother that you’re sexually harassing your eighteen year old senior tutor? Why don’t you take all that energy you’re putting into being a perverted freak and focus on your studies?”

Instead of being angry, Blake’s eyes widened and he burst into a loud laugh. “You are seriously something, Riley Dillon. Seriously something.”

“Just pay attention to the lesson,” I snapped.

“Age ain’t nothing but a number, Sweetheart. One day you’ll find that out.” He grinned his cocky smile and I couldn’t help but wonder if this tutoring gig was even worth it. As his laugh echoed in the empty classroom, all I could do was shut my tired eyes and shake my head in exasperation.
