Seven Day Fiance ~ Release Day Launch

The Sarcastic Palmtree is thrilled to be participating in the Relase Day Launch for

Seven Day Fiance
by Rachel Harris

Book Summary:

Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning him at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little fiancé game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

I absolutely loved this book.  It was exactly what I like to read when I'm in the mood for a good romance.  I also read Taste The Heat by Rachel Harris (you can read my review of Taste the Heat here) and Seven Day Fiance takes two of the side characters from that book and brings them together in Seven Day Fiance.

First I will say that Cane was just yummy.  I love it when I can clearly picture characters while I'm reading and I happened upon this picture that Rachel Harris posted on Facebook of her inspiration for Cane and for me, it was perfect!  Thank you Rachel!
I am certainly drawn to the bad boy while reading, probably because it isn't ever what I would go for in real life, (I love the safety and security of my nice guy husband) in fiction however I am more than willing to take that giant leap into scary territory!  The thing that I love about Cane is that even though he is tough on the outside, he is just a French Beignet on the inside!

Every time I read a book I'm wary of the female character.  Some tend to be too needy or whiny,  but I really enjoyed Angelle.  She was someone that wasn't always a strong person, kind of just doing what her family wanted and expected of her.  Upon seeing this in her life she changed it which is so admirable.  She is a fantastic woman because she decided what she wanted and went for it.  Also without that decision she never would have met Cane.

Cane and Angelle had and undeniable attraction from the start.  After the scene where they met it Taste The Heat I was fairly sure we would see the two of them in their own book soon which made me absolutely thrilled.  Cane was intriguing to me even then because of how he was described as the tough guy but also was the one who kept the books for the family restaurant.  Math geek? Cane? Huh? Tell this accountant more! Angelle appeared interested in Jason, Cane's best friend, but really Cane was the one that held her interest.  All these factors ended up making them perfect for each other.

I loved meeting Angelle's family and spending the week with them.  Family dynamics make a book interesting and bring on the feelings of "there's one in every family" as you match up most of the characters with someone we all know and love in our own lives as well.  I love the South and southern cooking so I was really wanting to try out all the delightful food brought up in the story.  (I have never wanted to try fried pig fat ever in my life until reading this book!)

Rachel Harris has a way of bringing on the heat between a couple without being explicit. I think the added element of Cane trying to make Angelle's ex jealous helped with this factor.  We all know that jealousy is a strong emotion and that I think really helped to turn up the heat with even just their kisses.  I loved it!  It also helped that they had real feelings for each other even though neither of them were willing to admit it.

I enjoyed Seven Day Fiance from start to finish.  I would recommend it to anyone over the age of 18 (It was a bit steamy for me to say any age) It is definitely a book I see myself reading again sometime.

Here is a little about the
FANTASTIC Rachel Harris:

Rachel Harris grew up in New Orleans, where she watched soap operas with her grandmother and stayed up late sneak reading her mama’s favorite romance novels. Now a Cajun cowgirl living in Houston, she still stays up way too late reading her favorite romances, only now, she can do so openly. She firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, powdered-sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations.

When not typing furiously or flipping pages in an enthralling romance, she homeschools her two beautiful girls and watches reality television with her amazing husband. Taste The Heat is her adult romance debut. She’s the author of MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY and A TALE OF TWO CENTURIES
